oh my.

crappers. Did I lose everybody? Were you few who were checking in on me every once and awhile get bored and leave? I sure would. Shit, I haven't posted in weeks!

As usual, the amount of stories I came away with in since my last "omg@gottarun!" update are too many and too long to post here, and yes, I do have someplace to be at this exact moment.

Summation:

1. I journeyed with Z to the Eugene O'Neil Theatre Center where there were PUPPETS ABOUND. The video portion of her sitcom show, 'Pussy and Cordelia' (pronounced: puh-see), was all me. It was the first time I blew up a storyboard, posted it to a wall, and stuck to it, 100%. I'll post the video once I can get some high-qual vocals, but until then you'll have to suckle on the instrumental version.

2. It was the first time Z and I had jointly worked on a project since we first met in college. Old wives call it "testing the waters". There were a few shreds of doubt in my mind, make no mistake, but working with Z just seemed truly natural, like how we just 'truly natural'ly made a pizza dinner just now. Conclusion: works well with girlfriends.

3. I came back from the puppetFest recharged about my own work. Here I had been for 3 months, doing the dirty work for other people's visions, never fully coming to the idea that all I needed to start my own was to . .well, just start it!@ More to come on this as I..erm..start..something..

4. I gave Mark Weiner creative criticism.

Pictures to come! I get a new camera tomorrow! woooo did I mention I'm doing Locations for a film? Wheeeeeeee!

planning for the future

For anybody who's ever used Flash . . .

Today we picture wrapped Broken English. It was a long week of nothing but night shoots, but we pulled through and finished. Holding aloft my bottle of water among glasses of champagne, I toasted The Crew 2.0 and left the victory speeches to go find something to haul down to the Unit Truck. That's been my style on this project - silent, hard working, and a little too much to myself. I wonder if that's what has been bugging me lately - the loner side is taking over.

On this day of all days, I got two calls for work. One of them I accepted right away, so it looks like I'll be doing Unit PA again for the month of July. The other was directly in conflict with the O'Neil conference, making the total number of jobs I've turned down to help out Z (and have a vacation) in June to 2. I'm not scared that I'll lose people's interest in myself as a worker, because the bestest 2nd 2nd in the world has officially proclaimed me as a part of his team. I'll keep working under him, at least, for now, and when I'm ready to move on, I will.

"When you stop being a PA, give me a call" Mamta said. I will, I replied. I will.

Broken English picture wraps tomorrow, another all-nighter to end a four-day streak of night shoots. Yesterday on location outside a gelato shop I had to hug a super drunk old dude to coax him away from set, and today I even got to cameo as a Deli Clerk! THE FUN NEVER STOPS FOR PA'S!
