copy that

this is it.

I just got back from the bestest shoot ever, Waverly Films'music video of Joey Negro's "Make a Move". Like I told the guys, I learned more in a day and a half than I have in the YEAR and a half I've been working for DOCS.

I was a PA for the weekend - my first professional gig, even though I did it for free. I ran for this and that, drove a van around Queens getting groceries, picked stuff up, put stuff down, and ran playback. Even though we only played the song for about 2-3 shots, EVERYBODY got it stuck in their heads for all of Sunday. Not only did we participate in a low-budget-yet-creatively-awesome shoot, but now we'll all be lifetime fans of Joey Negro and his "taste me make me" girls.

I had a blast! A really great guy, Patrick, took the task of showing me the ropes and teaching me the ins and outs of a PA's responsibilities. Our immediate 'boss', the 1st Assistant Director, Eric, was just as cool! It seemed at times like a big group of friends that just happened to be adept at filmmaking were hanging out. We all had fun (except for my feet, I was standing for 12 hours) and cranked out something that will rock your freaking socks off.

There were 4 other PAs besides myself: Noelle, Zeke, some guy reading Shakespeare, and the guy who didn't talk much. What a kickass team we were. There almost seemed like there were too many of us for the job - it was definitely a stereotypical 'hurry up and wait'.

This project was such a change of pace...it was just great. Great great great great..I can type that forever with just my left hand! Great great great great...try it!

I NEVER FALL

I, Chad Williams, the master of balance and braggably really good at never falling (flailing wildly is a-ok), have just fallen on the way to my car. The parking lot was full of black ice, and I was whistling + thinking about my videoblog, which you are all excited for.

Yeah. My back, which was stiff from sitting/editing all week, is now kicking me with its nerve feet.

i'm back.

Another great MAG. There is a lot of story to be told, but sadly (for you) I am holding it all back for. .... get ready ...

.. . a video blog!

Yessir, as the MAG pictures and videos start popping up all over the internet, I'll be collecting them and splicing 'em into a mini-doc / video blog of the weekend. Props to anybody who surfed here as a result of me plugging me.

In the meantime, taste the ancient VFW/Mausoleum of Goshen!

Teo's

updating from Shane's house in Lee, MA...

Today on the 2-Day-Shonen-Leaving-Tour we ate for a final time at Teo's, the bestest hotdog bar in the state. Trouble was, and I don't mean the hot waitress- she was more like 'eye-candy' for everybody else; trouble was that the hotdog maker in town had closed its doors, leaving everyone in the area with no alternative but to use REGULAR DOGS!!

A travesty, they called it. I thought it was fitting. Mike and I are probably never going to eat at Teo's again, and here was a perfectly good reason flopping right on top of our growing distance reasons.

It's funny how things like that work their way out like this. For the last year I was driving up to Lee, picking up Mike, eating hotdogs at Teo's (he paid) and then catching a movie at the crowded-with-teenagers Mall (I paid). It will forever be a part of my memories of this time...this place, right alongside Mike, Shane, and to a lesser extent the people they based their drama around. Goodbye, Teo's, I shall miss thee.

gosh, I feel great!

I took my car to the FireStone and they put another alternator into it - and lo and behold, THE CAR WAS WHOLE ONCE MORE!

Apparently they gave me some sort of "retarded organ" over the weekend (yeah, this is my second alternator) and this time they had to call away for a new one. MISSON COMPWETE!

Goodness it feels great not to worry about that no mo! Yeah! Go life! Go grandparents!

I recently emailed Virt (see: best videogame arranger, ever) for permission on an old track of his for Nth Mile. Turns out he's still just as awesome as he was when I met him two years ago. We will so hang at MAGFest . . but then again, that's what MAG is all about. Hanging with new people. Having fun. Gamering. Not worrying about the Hell that staff gets put through. Rocking out. Not stealing shit.

See y'all there. This weekend: A Sacco Sendoff. Next: MAG

passed out

For New Years Z and I visited our favorite witch, dog, cat, and Gabriel team out in cold, cold Natick, MA. It was a great time; all smiles, dead Ewoks and plenty of food for all. We stayed up towards New Years, but passed out like wimps with 1/2 hour to go. In our case, sleeping meant warmth.

Every time we go visit, it seems, Gator (the golden retriever) gets pet every free second, Gabe and I do some gaming, Z and Jenna catch up on old times and it all ends with gigantically full stomachs over at the amazing Indian buffet. This time had all this and more, thanks to the holiday. We made really cool decorations for the soulstice wreath out of construction paper and glue - which I plan to introduce down at MAG. Arts and Crafts are so much fun! I had forgotten how much I got into 'em.

Their new cat was awesome. He had a hanging toy that he loved to go psycho on, and when he wasn't doing that he was hiding up in some nook or eyeing us from another room. His name? Stinky Butt. i m a g e s
