WTD day 17

For the past three work days we've filmed in a beautiful, gigantic home just south of Prospect Park. There is a guy who drives around in a patrol car at night, black nannies, window alarms, the works - everything a rich white man could ask for.

Now, I have been told this many times by people who live IN Brooklyn, but never really appreciated it until now - "you can be on a beautiful, safe street one moment, turn the corner and be on the worst, drug-ridden crackhouse-layden street the next." It's frigging true! Yesterday there was a stabbing directly outside our crafty truck, which is coincedentally parked on "the next street over". This guy, surrounded by an entourage, was walking down the sidewalk talking trash- when suddenly this other dude runs up, does a flying jump and slashes down the back of the first guy's shoulder. It was pandemonium. People screaming, police eventually coming, chasing, shouting. I was nowhere near this craziness, of course, but Rob, the craft services guy, relayed it all to me today. It happened so close to him that he literally lurched out of the way.

Adding to the drama, today a teenager got hit by a car outside set. We get alot of rubberneckers but never had to deal with a full-blown car accident. He walked away from it, but it was scary to think about. Did we indirectly cause that accident? Was he staring at Lucy, not paying attention, when he stepped into traffic? Both of these incidents overshadow the fun and hard work that the last two days have been. I only hope that the rest of the job passes without any more craziness.

The scenes we filmed today were rockin. I can't really tell you about them, but it was a blast to watch. Get ready for this movie, because it's gonna take the world by storm. Two really talented actors having fun, a great script, and the Chadster doing his thing all rolled up into one big Katamari.

Where's my girlfriend? It's time to snuggle.

Today I turned down an opportunity to play with Lucy's dog, Jack, cuz she seemed to be having such a good time throwing the ball with him. Afterwards, I figured, y'know, she probably just wants people to play with him...socialize him or something. Maybe I should've said yes.

I think there's some sort of film deja-vu in force. The last film I worked on, some dude was shot across the street from our location (which was admitedly in a shitty part of town) then two cars got into an accident as they passed another location. We didn't have Lucy Liu but we were towing a phone booth into the parking lot of an "Authentic Southern BarBQ" restaurant. Weeeeeeeird.
