Superhuman Samurai . . Syber Squad!!
yesterday Shael turned 25.
I headed over to the Riley Bros. apartment (which they have totally taken over) the other day and, along with the legendary Brett "hey beech!" Vanderbrook, recorded some audio commentary for Nth Mile.
During the recording, Brett asked why JC wasn't there with us on the track. The embarrassing answer: I totally forgot about her when in my train of thought about the commentary. It just didn't click. My brain, or how it functions, gets me in trouble for dumb stuff like this, forgetting or excluding information when it could be really useful. It's gotten me in the dog house w/previous girlfriends, and now with Z, too. I just don't know what to do. There's a part of me that's very accepting that it's just degeneration on an already forgetful mind, that I'll have alseimers sooner than later, and that I should just suck it up and enjoy life before I forget my own name. The more studious side of me believes that there might be a cure out there, or a quick fix in the form of a memory-enhancing harddrive implant or maybe some 'Intelli-gum' that I could chew to gain more active memory.
Either way, I'm totally embarrassed when it happens. The funny thing: it never happens at work, or very rarely so. When I get home, "I turn my brain off", or so I used to tell people. It's somewhat true, and it's a part of my current mindset, be it harmful or stupid.
During the commentary, we drank horrible tasting shots of Jack Daniels every time P.Rappa smoked up, and chased that with a Power Hour of Coors Light. I dropped out at minute 22, my stomach too full of beer and pizza to continue forcing any more liquid inside. I don't usually drink at all, so it was kind of a big deal that I didn't get all crazy drunk from this.
